“if you are trans and don’t want to be misgendered then at least TRY to be passing” did you know some people cannot just do as they please to change their appearance because of the situation they are in ? being trans is not all about “passing” its just that being trans affects the way you feel about your appearance and thats way basically most (if not all) trans people eventually change their appearance BUT it is NOT THEIR FAULT if someone else is accustomed to thinking its okay to assume others’ genders by looking at their appearance…at all…by saying people “dont try to be passing so they shouldnt be upset when misgendered” you are downright invalidating their emotions, implying that they are obligated to change their appearance, its okay to misgender and assume a person’s gender because of appearance, that every trans person has access to what they need, and that being trans is all about passing…its not. so stop saying that bullshit and just support people when they get misgendered dont make excuses
